Just Another Story of Nash-Vegas!!

I got to work a little early this morning....so I thought I would let you know about my lunch yesterday! As an office, we all went out to eat yesterday with one of our artists....Barlow Girl. If you don't know who they are, you either live in Unionville where there is no Christian radio period, or you have been living under a rock!! These girls are one of the hottest acts in Christian music right now. You might be thinking..."Barlow Girls...isn't that a Superchic[k] song?" Yes, it is. Superchic[k] saw these girls perform and were so impressed with their stance for purity, that they wrote a song about them! Anyway, back to lunch. Needless to say, I was a little nervous to meet them! I am too much of a Christian music fan not to be!! But we sat, and had lunch just chatting like we were old college buddies that were just catching up! No joke, the three girls...Becca, Alyssa, and Lauren are just that....three girls! They talked about shoes and life on the road! Their parents were also with them. Vince, their father, is also their manager. He genuinely tried to get to know each one of us. Asking questions like "Where are you originally from?" (because no one in Nashville is actually from N-ville) He found out that I am from a farm, so he asked lots of questions about that and about north MO!! Just then, Michael Tait, his sister and some industry folk came in and sat at the table beside us! Tait's sister, Linda Randall came over and expressed her admiration for the girls and told them how much she loves their music!! That was hilarious. Not because someone had recognized them (cause they get that everywhere), but because Linda Randall loves their music. She is a southern gospel singer, most often seen sharing the stage with the Gaithers and the rest of the blue-headed choir!! Crazy town! I left the lunch feeling that I have a family that will let me stay at their house anytime I am in Chicago! Not only are these girls crazy talented....they love life and love to share it with those around them! COMING THIS FALL....the new release from Barlow Girl!! Stand in line for this one. It proves to be one of the most talented releases of the year!! Hope and Peace!!

A Painful Joy!

This past weekend I was given the chance to visit the old stomping grounds of CCC of the B! 2005 Graduation was held on Friday! For me, it was a reunion of such. Three Days Under was once again united (though no performances ensued). Tears poured and hearts were lifted...oh the memories!! Actually....it was more like a trip to the nursery! Since graduating in 2004, many of my friends have gone on to marriage and kids! Sitting atop the bleachers, I watched as Scottie and Jesse sat close and talk about....THEIR KIDS!!!!!!!!!! Scottie and Jesse....whoa.....were these the same two I had played with at White Oak when Jesse had cymbol stands crafted by drum sticks and Scottie was sticking himself after every meal? God has led all of us in so many directions. It took a Saturday afternoon at Chili's to finally begin to catch up with everyone. I miss the long road trips and crazy sound problems we used to deal with in 3DU. Now we are dealing with diapers and nap time! But amidst the crying babies....I hope that God still hears my prayers for the reunion of a touring Three Days Under someday! I love you guys! I will never meet another group of guys so willing to do whatever God asked of them (and we were crazy talented to...no matter what you say!). Nashville and I would welcome you with arms wide open anytime! Hope and Peace!!

3DU Siting!!

This weekend, on my way home from Jayme's parents house, I stopped by my cousin Linda's apartment. During our short conversation she told me a story. On St. Patty's day, she was club hopping and heard about a new Christian club where all the cool people were hangin. So she thought she would go check it out. Sure enough, there it was. But on that night, they were allowing anyone to bring in their favorite music to be played. Remembering that she had her cousin's cd in her car, she raced out to grab "Rain"!! During the evening, "Rain" was one of the 2 or 3 cds that were played in their entirety!!! So much music to be played, and yet they choose to not just play 1 or 2 songs, but the entire "Rain" cd!!! Just thought I would pass that along. Just another page in the short story we call Three Days Under! Hope and Peace!!
