ummm.....Where Have You Been?
Once again....it has been a whole month since my last post. But I have great excuses.....and I'll list them!
Things at GOA are changing! To flow with the current in Christian Music, we have decided to add a "rock" division to our roster. Currently we only have one band, Inhabited, on this roster...but we are actively seeking new bands to sign. I think by the end of the year, there will be a solid line-up of 3-4 bands!! Anyway...they have given me the reigns for this new division. I am the "rock" guy for GOA!!! Not a pay raise, or a title change, but different responsibilities!! I will be taking care of all our new bands and the smaller half of the CHR roster. So my days are longer, making 70 phone calls a day, emailing, and trying to fill every day of the year for these bands. I'm crazy excited to get this opportunity!
Floor 27, the college-age ministry I lead at Lakeshore Christian Church is going great! Since the beginning of the school year I have a solid 5-7 that are there every week!! We have been growing crazy deep with each other. We just finished our 7 month study of Hebrews 11....yeah....7 months on 1 CHAPTER!! We are getting ready to dive into the book of Romans! That should be crazy! While frantically studying for this, I am planning events and trips we can do as a ministry! Let me know if you have any awesome ideas for retreats, events, concerts, projects, etc.
Hey.....I'M GETTING MARRIED IN ONE MONTH!!!!!!! One month from today I will be married to the most beautiful, sweet, funny, kind-hearted, understanding, hottie on the planet!! If you haven't read my blog in the past....4 months...this is new news to you. If this is news to you, what rock do you live under....and is there room for me? Jayme and I will say I do at 5:30 on Nov. 19th...afterwards, we are receptioning at Union Station in Nashville. You don't want to miss that!! We have been busy planning and attending wedding/bridal showers and finalizing all the details. We just spent last weekend in Springfield, MO at Jayme's home for a wedding shower. My mom, brothers and sisters were all able to be there along with Jayme's mom, dad, sisters, brother-in law, nephew, and nieces!! Crazy fun time at the Brock's!
Last Wednesday, my room mate Timothy and I spontaneously drove to St. Louis for the opening game of the Cardinals/Astros series! My other room mate gave me 2 tickets to the game as a wedding gift....but since Jayme couldn't get off work....Timothy went. It was nuts...sold out...and loud!! We got home just before 4 a.m!!! GO CARDS!!!!!
I am still playing auxiliary percussion with Kimber Manning. We recently performed a showcase for different Nashville industry people. The show was empty, but evidently the right people were there. Kimber has been making phone calls and meetings for the past 3 weeks, and it really looks as if God is really guiding her and her music!! I'll keep you all posted! For now, check out her link on my sidebar!
I had the privilege of coaching a men's slow-pitch softball team this fall. We were The Gumbys!! Though we finished the season a perfect 0-14....we had a crazy time. Just a bunch of 20-somethings playing a sport we were all to athletic for!! HAHA I was the pitcher....I think my ERA was.....umm.....I don't think I can count that high!! It was ugly...but fun. GO GUMBYS!!
Well, I hope those were good excuses for my absence this last month. I will try to keep you more updated....but don't hold your breath...I don't know CPR! Hey, if you're not doing anything on November 19th...come to Nashville and party with me as I step into commitment...something I know you never thought I would do!! BUT I AM!! Hope and Peace!!
