Across the big S.D.!
This weekend, Jayme and I had the privelege of flying to San Diego for her college roomate's wedding! Since I was not needed for the bacheloret party, bridal luncheon, or any other pre-ceremonial gathering, I had the opportunity to catch a Padres vs. Mets game, walk along the San Diego harbor, check out the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown SD, and watch a little SportsCenter!! The harbor was full of Cruise liners, old museum ships, and aircraft carriers. There are 2 Naval bases (I think) in San Diego. One of which is located on Coranado Island, which is where the wedding and reception was held! The island is connected to the main land by an incredible bridge. At the top of the bridge looking south you can see all of Tijuana, MX! Coranado Island is just a rich european village to say the least. Jayme and I had the opportunity to visit on of the houses on the island. Though the house was quaint in our standards, it's worth on the island is more than I will make in my lifetime! All-in-all, the weekend was awesome. The four-hour flights were shadowed by the beautiful weather we enjoyed. I even got a little tan! Hope and Peace!!

That's One Big Nutshell...
I am currently at my desk, drinking a Dr. Pepper, and eating this amazing turkey sandwich. Jayme and I decided to try some deli cut Mesquite Turkey from Kroger. I am not a turkey fan at all.....but this is the best deli sliced meat I have ever had. If you were here, I wouldn't share a single bite...that's how good it is!!
Anyway, back to the fact that I haven't posted in a month......sorry! Wait, no I'm not. If for some crazy stupid reason you have been waiting at your computer since March 8th holding your breathe, waiting for this post.....then maybe I'm sorry....or maybe you are just disturbed! I know my last post was a little sappy and depressing, but that is where I was a month ago. That is why I have not posted since then. I have been battling myself this past month. Basically, since the wedding, I have become really good at letting things fall through the cracks like, prayer, scripture ready, WORKING OUT (i'm so fat!), my friends, and even my love for Jayme. I have just become really lazy. So this last month was a battle against that laziness.....but I'm still not winning. I'm getting ready to list all the things that have gone on this last month, and it may seem like I'm staying too busy......but I'm not. Enjoy!
They have started building our house!!!! Yeah, if you haven't checked out my blog in a while, you may not know that Jayme and I bought a house! Here are the most recent photos!!
This picture is of our view at sunset from what will be our deck!!!!!! OH yeah, I cut my own hair!
Yes, you heard me right, I cut my own hair. It only took me about 1 1/2 hours! I went at it with my beard trimmers. Once I realized that they weren't actually cutting anything because it was too long. I busted out our house-hold scissors. About halfway through, I looked like I had been stranded on an island, and I was hacking of my hair with a knife. But it all turned out ok!
The Kimber Manning project has come to an end....for now! I have been playing music with a good friend from church, Kimber Manning (check out the link to the right). After about a year and a half of playing classic rock music with me, she has decided that she is going to go another direction with her vocals. She is not looking to release a pop-standards album. She is covering some of the classics by Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, and many others. Jayme and I wish Kimber all the best. Her vocals are freaking amazing, so we know God will continue to bless her as her reputation grows!!
Music plans for me here in Nashville are still un-started. I'm still working in the Christian music industry and am loving the people that I am meeting and the experience that I am gaining. There is light on the horizon though! It has always been my dream to be apart of a band a guys that love traveling and leading worship for conferences and such. Recently, I met another such sole! His name is Luke. Please pray for God's leading in our lives. Luke is going to be graduating from Ozark in May. We are throwing around ideas of how we could persue these goals together, based here in Nashville. We would love to use our college-age bible study here as a springboard. But this is a lot of prayers away......but a possibility is arising! My goal is to have a similar ministry that I had with 3DU, but we'll see what God has in mind.
Myspace is beginning to take over my free time! www.myspace.com/calebbutler is my link. I love getting on, networking, and chatting with friends. Whether they are friends from Central, camp, or Nashville. I have even chatted with some of my fellow Midgets from back home. I'm also using myspace to connect with new Christian bands as well. My job requires me to keep my ear to the ground for new, up-and-coming groups. Myspace is making this connection so much easier! Thanks Tom.....
Kyle is down here this week! My brother came down to visit for GMA Week. GMA week is the largest christian music industry conference. Every band, manager, record label, etc is here for the week. All ending with the taping of the Dove Awards. Anyone who is anyone in christian music is here. It is awesome to be apart of the industry, and be able to call people like Mark Stuart and Mike Weaver friends. I love learning the ministry behind so many of my favorite musicians! It is also awesome to share the week with my brother. I often pray that God's will for Kyle would mean him moving down here with me. If you haven't noticed, he is an amazing musician, friend, and brother. Kyle, in August, we'll have a spare bed.......!!!
Yesterday was my birthday! Jayme surprised me with a birthday party at BB King's with all my friends! I was kind of bummed because it has been so busy around here, I didn't think we were really going to do much for my birthday. My wife is awesome!! There were nearly 35 of us that night!! God has blessed me with some awesome friends here in N-ville! I'm almost old enough to do anything I want......one more year though. Then I can rent a car!! Watch out world...
I'll leave you with another list of bands that you HAVE to check out this moment! A little something for all tastes...sponsored by myspace.com! Hope and Peace!! Ph. 4:13
