Even in FL and GA!

One more weekend of road managing under my belt! I spent this last weekend out on the road with Newsong once again. This time, not as a shadow, but as "road manager"......and all that that entails!! It was definitely a rough weekend, but I think I'm beginning to get the hang of what it is that I'm supposed to be doing as road manager. Showers were limited and I grab little bites of food in between setting up meet and greets, merch tables, and whatever else was needed at the time. Chicken, dressing, mac-n-cheese, and mashed potatoes are so much better freshly warm.....but their not bad lukewarm either!
Saturday we were in Gainesville, FL, where it was a beautful 72 degrees and sunny. I really wished I would have taken some shorts! Though there were only about 200 in attendance, they were an energetic 200 and made for a fun night. We then loaded the bus and headed back "home" or Woodstock, GA (the base of Newsong). We slept in the bus and woke up around noon in Carrolton, GA (about 45 minutes West of Woodstock). This evening would be a fundraiser for a young adult that was paralized in a car accident back in June. His name is Matt if you want to lift him up. He is determined to walk, even against the odds. We were raising funds so that he could have his treatments. Medicare has cut off support, so they have turned to the church.....because as the "church" THAT'S WHAT WE SHOULD DO!!!!!!!!! About 750 lined the church and raised funds for Matt. I also meant an amazing woman of God. I didn't catch her name, but she was stationed to open the door that I just happened to go through about 25 times that night. Each time with a beautiful smile and a friendly laugh she would open and the door! Such a small, seemingl insignificant job, but she poured her heart into into.......another sign of true Christianity played out.
Drew, Nate and I drove back to Nashville, and I arrived in my bed all nice and warm at around 12:30am! I miss my wife!! I'll go hang out with her........Hope and peace!!
